Jello Shots

Store the alcohol that you will be using in the jello shot in the freezer to get cold

SoCo and Lime

Lime Jello

Boiling Water (use the amount listed on the directions on the box)

Southern Comfort (Substitute the cold water for the same amount of cold liquor)

Disposable souffle cups or disposable shot glasses

Mix together jello mix and boiling water as directed on the box.  Add in the Southern comfort and mix. Immediately pour into souffle cups and and then refrigerate for at least 3 hours. 

Variations:

Margarita Jello Shots:

Lime Jello

1 cup boiling water

2/3 cup Tequila

1/3 cup Triple Sec (it will freeze so do not leave in the freezer for more than 3 hours)

Prepare same as directed above

Amaretto and Orange

Note:  The cheaper the liquor the better, the taste doesn’t change if you use top shelf liquor

Drinks 

5 ¾  cups pineapple juice 

1 cup lemon juice    

1 cup sugar      

1 pint cranberry juice                            

2 qt. bottles gingerale          

                                                           

Chill all juices.  Combine all but gingerale.  Stir well to dissolve sugar. (perhaps, heat a cup of juice to dissolve sugar in)  Add gingerale just before serving.             

Makes 1 gallon

2 cups water    

1/4 cup Nestea

3 cups orange juice    

1 cup unsweetened pineapple juice 

1 cup lemon juice    

1/2 cup sugar   

1/4 cup grenadine         

1 28-oz. bottle ginger ale, chilled              


                                   

 

In 21/2 qt. bowl, combine water & Nestea Instant Tea: stir until dissolved.  Add orange, lemon & pineapple juices, sugar and grenadine; stir until sugar dissolves.  Chill.  Pour tea mixture into 41/2 to 5 qt. decorative bowl; add ice cubes or ice ring.  Before serving add ginger ale.  Garnish w/ halved fresh strawberries and orange slices, if desired.  Punch cups may be garnished with a whole strawberry or orange wedge slipped onto the rim.  (Nestea w/ lemon may be substituted for Nestea; omit 1/2 cup lemon juice.)

4 family size tea bags ( or 10 indiv.)  

2 Tbsp. orange juice (frozen concentrate, not diluted)      

2 Tbsp. lemon juice    

1 1/2 to 1 3/4 c. sugar

                                                                                                           

Pour 2 qts. boiling water over tea bags and steep for approx. 10-15 minutes.  Take out tea bags and add remaining ingredients.  Stir to dissolve.  Add ice or water to make 1 gallon.

2c. Tang          

1 c. Instant tea w/ sugar & lemon  

1 tsp. cinnamon           

1 tsp. allspice   

3/4 tsp. cloves             


 

Mix all ingredients & store in covered container.  Use 1-2 spoonfuls per mug of hot water.                                                                                        

 

DIET TEA

1TSP. CINNAMON                                                   

1TSP.ALLSPICE                                                       

3/4 TSP. CLOVES                                                         


 Use 1/2 to 1 spoonful per mug hot water.

3 lemons          

2 oranges        

1  2- inch stick cinnamon         

6 whole cloves 

1/2 c. sugar or honey- to taste 

6 c. cider                                                                                 


 

With serrated knife, peel the rind from 1 orange & 1 lemon in a continuous spiral.  Squeeze the juice from all oranges & lemons.  In enamel or stainless steel pan gently heat the orange & lemon juice w/ spices & sugar or honey, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.  Add the cider & heat gently until almost boiling. Add orange & lemon rind.  Cover & let infuse over low heat w/out boiling for 10 or 15 min.    

 

Serves 6 or 8 in a 10 oz. punch mug.                 6-8
